Tasman Coast Warranty Registration (1.20 MB)

In compliance with the Australian Consumer Law, following a major failure or any other reasonably foreseeable damage, clients are entitled to have their vehicle repaired supposing that the damage was a result of a fault in manufacturing rather than usage of the product.


Definitions (as referred to in the document)

  1. “Dealer” means the business from which the customer purchases their recreational vehicle from.
  2. “Client” refers to the original buyer of the Caravan as specified in any invoice, document, or order and if there is more than one client in a reference, they will be referred to in addressing any faults.
  3. “Caravan” denotes any caravan(s) supplied by Tasman Coast to the client or dealer as outlined in invoices, quotations or any other work authorisation forms as provided by Tasman Coast to the client.


The benefits of this warranty are in addition to any rights and remedies imposed by Australian State and Federal legislation that cannot be excluded or overlooked.

This warranty cannot be interpreted as a modification, restriction, or exclusion of any State or Federal registration applicable to the manufacturing and supplying of goods and services or to consumerism.

Tasman Coast provides the following warranty in relation to its recreational vehicles:

THE TASMAN COAST WARRANTY-

  • Should a structural concern arise with your van manufactured by Tasman Coast please contact: Danny (Business Operations Manager) on 0412644612 or ltrvwarranty@gmail.com
  • Tasman Coast guarantees that in compliance with the exclusions and limitations listed below, all components of the caravan assembled, designed, and manufactured by Tasman Coast will be free from defects in materials and construction for a period of 24 months from the date of purchase. This is the period and the terms under which Tasman Coast will provide warranty for any of their vehicles.
  • If a client wishes to sell their vehicle to any willing buyer, Tasman Coast will not be completing any warranty work for any subsequent owner of the caravan.
  • In the event that a defect becomes apparent in any Tasman Coast caravan prior to the end of the warranty period and the fault is as a result of Tasman Coast's materials or workmanship Tasman Coast will, in its sole discretion, act to rectify this defect at the soonest possible time after the issue having come to light, given that adequate communication has been carried out.


OBLIGATIONS OF THE PURCHASER-

  • Clients must take all reasonable precautions to prevent damage to the caravan and must notcontinue to operate the caravan if damage or fault is suspected
  • If suspicion does arise that there is a fault in the caravan the client must contact their dealerimmediately, prior to attempting to rectify the issue themselves or outsourcing a companyto repair the issue
  • If a fault is detected the client must use their own means to return the caravan to theTasman Coast dealer for inspection
  • Upon inspection, if no fault is found the client must bear the costs of service work,evaluation and testing owed to Tasman Coast (if applicable)


WARRANTY CLAIMS

  1. After faults of damages have come to light, the client must contact the Tasman CoastDealer at the earliest possible time.
  2. Any warranty claim must be accompanied by
    1. Proof of purchase (transaction between the Dealer and/or Tasman Coast and theoriginal purchaser of the caravan)
    2. A detailed description of the alleged defect in the product
    3. Appropriate documentation such as historical cost and maintenance records
  3. The client must themselves return the vehicle to the Tasman Coast Dealer for inspectionregarding the alleged defect, bearing all costs associated with transport unless for anyreason the Tasman Coast Dealer offer to do so
     

EXCLUSIONS

  • Where the caravan has been used for purpose other than what it was intended for (living,travel)
  • If the caravan has been repaired, altered, modified by someone other than Tasman Coast ora Tasman Coast approved repair agent
  • If upon inspection Tasman Coast cannot establish the alleged or any other any fault or defectin the caravan
  • If the defect has come about due to the client’s negligence in maintaining or caring for theproduct in accordance with Tasman Coast or the Dealer’s instructions, recommendations,and specifications.
  • If the defect arose due to the client’s requested customisation against recommendationfrom the manufacturer
  • The caravan has been subject to or exposed to abnormal conditions including environment,temperature, water, fire, humidity, pressure, stress or similar.
  • The defect has come about due to blatant abuse, misuse, neglect, or accident when handlingor using the caravan.
  • The caravan has been overloaded
  • The caravan has been subject to an accident resulting in the alleged defect
  • Any damage occurring while the purchaser continues to drive with a known or suspectedfault, or which a reasonable person in the position of the driver or owner would, should,know or suspect to be a fault.
  • When the defect arises due to an item not installed by Tasman Coast (diesel/gas heaterssourced and installed externally without approval from Tasman Coast).
  • The defect has occurred due to incorrect power supply, over voltage, incorrect gas or watersupply.
  • General wear and tear due to age and time including deterioration or fading of paint,curtains, seats, or soft trim.
  • Water damage caused by creek crossings, flooding, and other similar conditions wherein it isreasonably expected that damage may occur when the vehicle is exposed to suchconditions.
  • Damage or defects caused by excessive speed or hard impact.
  • The aesthetics of galvanising, coating, and protectant treatments

CUSTOMER MAINTENANCE RESPONSIBILTIES

This warranty does not apply to maintenance items which are the responsibility of the customer. The general maintenance items include but are not limited to.

  • Suspension servicing.
  • Wheel bearing servicing and adjustment.
  • Checking tyre pressures.
  • General greasing and tightening of components.
  • Rust- proofing, painting, maintenance of painted and exposed surfaces


It is also the responsibility of the customer to ensure that the van is serviced at 1,500km or 3 months then at every 10,000km or 12 months * or at any other time the customer deems reasonable. Service timing starts from your handover date. *whichever comes first
 

LIMITATIONS

Tasman Coast makes no express warranties of representations other than those set out in this warranty.

The repair or replacement of the caravan or part of the caravan is the absolute limit of Tasman Coast’s liability under this express warranty.
